I remember when I found out I was expecting I hoped that I would not have a baby with special needs. I never thought I was cut out to be one of those moms. Well, baby girl decided to come 12 weeks early and had a laundry list of health conditions. It w so weird how every negative thought I ever had about special babies went out the window. I immediately became the person I needed to be to take care of her. I truly believe that God picks out extra special moms to bless these kinds of babies with. We are part of the chosen few that are so extraordinary and have so much compassion and empathy we are the ones made for such a task. You know what else, we never complain, we do what we have to do to take care of our special babies and we do it with a smile on our face. So, if you ever feel burdened or unappreciative of the hand your dealt, just think about how special you are and that your one of the lucky ones hand picked to be blessed with a wonderful extra special child!

Spiffies Rock! Cleaning baby's teeth made easier
My sweet girl has lots of sensory problems and does not like anything in her mouth. Trying to brush her teeth with a toothbrush is torture, for both of us... We recently visited the dentist and she recommended Spiffies Wipes. They look like Wet Ones wipes when you take them out of the pack. They come in apple and grape. They have a xylitol solution on the wipe so it cleans baby's teeth and the xylitol protects teeth from plaque. You simply wrap one around your finger and wipe baby's teeth. It's gentle and my baby loves both flavors. You can buy them on Amazon. One box of 20 runs about $7. You can buy in bulk and get boxes of 3 or 6 at a time. I give this product a thumbs up!

Intro to Special Mommies and Babies
Hi! I am new to the blogging world, but I wanted to have a place where moms of special needs babies and children can come for parenting advice, product reviews, and support. Being a single mom of an 18 month old special daughter, I know how hard it can be to get through each day with your sanity still intact. I want everyone that falls into this category to know your not alone. Nearly 12% of families have children with some sort of special needs, that's really a lot!
My goal for this blog is to help support moms raising special needs children and for everyone to use it as a way to make life better for you and your extra special little ones.
